The 2019 Subaru Love Promise Customer Commitment Award

What is the Subaru Love Promise?

Subaru and our retailers believe in making the world a better place and the Subaru Love Promise is our vision of respecting all people. This is our commitment to show love and respect to our customers and to work to make a positive impact in the world.

The Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment

We believe in being a positive force in something bigger. And it all starts right here in our community. Not just by our donations, but by our actions.

That's why we stay true to our Love Promise Community Commitment by partnering with a wide variety of community nonprofits and charities.

Every year, we join hands with our owners in the "Share the Love" event, giving back to our community-a community that's given so much to us.

So, every day, we strive to ensure our love is felt not just by our customers, but by all in our community. We do this because we feel it is the right thing to do.

We are proud to participate in the Love Promise Community Commitment. We're grateful, not only to be a part of our community, but to serve and support the causes and passions that are closest to our hearts, right here in our neighborhood.

All of the organizations we support have one thing in common: the unwavering dedication to improve the world and the lives of its people.

Bunham Pool  –  christina c

April 3, 2018 Well, spring is finally here and once again it will soon be time to open our gate. The Burnham pool solely operates on gate admissions, concession sales, and donations. Each year the opening of the community pool weighs heavily on generous donations from area businesses and individuals in the community. I want to personally thank you again Christina and Calkins Subaru for what you did for us. You can’t realize how much that meant to the pool. Hopefully, you can do that again some year. Thank you again, Barry Reinard

Eco day  –  Christina C

The High School students in the Mifflin County Ecology Class designed and facilitated outdoor learning stations at Kish Park for 5th-grade students at Sacred Heart School, Indian Valley Elementary Center and Lewistown Intermediate School. 5th grade Student participated in stations that taught them about tree structure, recycling, bees, and pollination to name a few. The 5th-grade students also helped the High School students release Brook Trout that were raised in the classroom. It was a day of learning for all. The high school students found delight in teaching the younger kids. “I liked teaching the kids something new, as well as showing them learning is fun.”The 5th-grade students were excited as participants. One fifth grade student stated, “My favorite part was ALL of it!” Another one stated, “Thanks for an amazing day, my favorite part was releasing the fish.” The interaction between the older students mentoring the younger students as they shared information about our environment was priceless. Calkins Subaru’s donation and sponsorship made this day possible!

Subaru of America sponsored a "Share the Love" program and invited their dealers to designate a local organization as a beneficiary of this charitable campaign. Calkins Subaru selected the Mifflin County Library as their choice. For every newly purchased or leased auto, owners could choose to have $250.00 donated to the Library. Little did we realize the end result of this partnership would be $7,223.00. The Library will use the money to purchase computer tables for the Kish Branch (Belleville) and outside benches at Lewistown. On behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff of the Mifflin County Library, THANK YOU Subaru of America, Calkins Subaru, "Subi" owners/lessees, and Christina Calkins for recognizing and supporting the important role of the Mifflin County Library in meeting the needs of the community. Warmest regard, Dr. Molly S. Kinney Library Director
